Is a rental vehicle quite common on Australian roads. Costs at least A$1,000 per week to hire, not including diesel fuel, which in Australia, is expensive, especially in the more remote areas. For two or three couples wanting to see Australia together, renting a motorhome like this is a good option, especially if stopping at free or low cost camp sites, of which there are countless in Australia. To buy a new motorhome would cost at least A$125,000 so renting for, say 6 weeks, is a good option for a group. For a couple on their own a far better option is a rental car, and stop-overs in guest houses, or B&B's. That way you get to meet locals and learn about the regions you travel through.
